Meetings, Training & Conferences

Many of the stately homes, castles and country houses we work with provide an excellent event space for a meeting venue.  Whether you are training staff or holding a big conference, the in-house staff ensure that everything on the day runs smoothly and professionally.  Cornwell Manor, 2 hours from London, in the Cotswolds has a fabulous ballroom offering a large space as a corporate venue and can sleep up to 24 people onsite.

Golf Days

Company golf days are very popular and we can organise for you and your colleagues to play at almost any course in the UK.  Many of our country manor houses, castles or stately homes are located near to some of the most famous courses.  An ideally situated castle to stay at is Birkhill Castle for a corporate golf day at St Andrews, Carnoustie, Ladybank, Elie, Crail or Kingsbarns.

Team Building & Activity Days

At LTR we can put together some fabulous team building away days and activity days to delight your delegates.  The team building and activities can often happen onsite at many of our country houses or castles as they have acres of grounds that can be used for activities such as treasure hunts, clay pigeon shooting, cookery lessons and highland games.  Some of our large stately homes can sleep big numbers on the estate such as Broughton Hall in Yorkshire which sleeps up to 60 people.

Whiskey Experience

A favourite corporate event idea is a Whiskey Experience where your delegates can immerse themselves in the history of Scotch Whiskey and the many different flavors and aromas.  All of this can be arranged at the private house you are staying at.  If you happen to be staying at Auchterarder House in Perthshire, the surroundings lend themselves to a Whiskey Experience along with perhaps shooting clay pigeons off the turret roof!

Scotland

We have a selection of castles and large country houses in Scotland which offer their own unique perspective on hosting corporate events.  Whether the event is a training & development day, golf day, team building & activity day or a more informal get together for business associates, we can help you find the best place for it.  The natural rugged and remote landscape of the Scottish countryside lends itself to adventurous corporate events, with activities such as white water rafting, hiking in the mountains, biking or the more sedate whiskey experience.  All great for team bonding.  If you’re flying into Scotland we can find you a venue that is close to the airport so that your delegates don’t have to travel too far.  Just under one hours drive from both Glasgow and Edinburgh International Airports is Auchterarder House with 10 double ensuite bedrooms and space for meetings during the day.

England

With London being the centre for many businesses, finding an event venue close to London is often an important requirement.  We have several large manor houses or stately homes within 2 hours of London that offer fantastic space for a corporate event.  For the smaller, more intimate Director’s retreats, we have some cosier country houses in quintessentially English countryside that offer an escape from the hustle and bustle of city life.  Under one hours drive from London Gatwick International Airport is Cowdray House which has 22 double ensuite bedrooms, indoor and outdoor swimming pools, tennis court, cricket pitch and bowling alley.  Whatever your criteria, we will do our best to find you the most suitable venue.

Swindon

Wilsford Manor, which is situated within 800 acres of private land and is only 45 minutes drive from Swindon, has five double bedrooms and one single room with further accommodation for 17 people in cottages on the estate.  Included is one mile of fly fishing on the River Avon (when in season) as well as a heated outdoor swimming pool and tennis court.

London

With London being the centre of business for the UK, there is a huge demand for event space in London and venue hire in London.  We would be delighted to find you the perfect hire space for whatever corporate entertainment you have in mind.

Wales

If you’re looking for corporate venue hire in Wales, The Grove at Narberth is an independent country house hotel in the heart of the Welsh countryside, only a short drive from the Pembrokeshire coast.  The house has 13 rooms with further accommodation in three cottages.  Sustainability is at the heart of everything they do, actively promoting climate change and reducing their carbon footprint.  The hotel can be taken over exclusively and they have two restaurants, The Fernery Restaurant and The Artisan Brasserie.

Ireland

Staying in an Irish castle can be a great corporate party idea as each castle offers a completely unique venue and magical surroundings for any corporate event.  Lismore Castle has been holding family gatherings and social events for centuries and offers a very grand background to impress clients or colleagues alike.

All our castles are fully staffed and catered offering exceptional service to all our guests.  Most of our houses come with a chef & housekeeping service and we can provide butlers, extra waiting staff and any other additional staff you might require.  Bespoke menus are created in conjunction with the chef.

We have Unique Venues all over the UK and Ireland

Sometimes, choosing where in the UK an event should take place can be difficult.  Many of our venues are situated within an hour from an international airport and yet feel very remote once you get there.  The activities on offer can vary depending on what part of the country the venue is in, which can often help with making the decision as to where you should go.

There aren’t that many properties shown on your website, do you have any others?

We have lots more properties that we work with and can offer our clients. We only show a very few properties in order to give visitors a ‘taster’ of the type of country houses, castles and stately homes that we have. Many of them are ‘hidden gems’ that are not widely known and as such, are extremely special and luxurious places to stay.

How does the process work when organizing a corporate event with LTR?

Once we get an enquiry from you, we then try to speak to you on the phone to get the ball rolling and to work out what your requirements are for the event.  Once we have learned what your priorities are, such as proximity to an airport or number of bedrooms, we can then start the search for the ideal event venue.  Then we put together a shortlist of properties for you to have a look at and consider.  Once you have chosen your venue, we can then start working together on the bespoke itinerary for the event and start arranging the activities and entertainment for you.  Throughout the whole process we work very closely with you to ensure that we stay ‘on track’ and provide you with the bespoke corporate event that you are looking for.

How different is it doing a coprorate event in a private house to a hotel?

Hotels are often more used to doing corporate events than private houses and generally have a more ‘commercial’ feel to them.  However, if you take a hotel over exclusively then there will only be yourselves at the hotel and in the grounds which is much more private.  Private houses are often part of large estates and have much more private land than hotels do.  This means that many of the activities can actually take place on the estate rather than having to go to external providers.  If you have large numbers, hotels are often more easily able to accommodate this than a private house would, however, that is not always the case.
