Borthwick Castle is a majestic and historic Scottish castle to hire, built in 1430. Just 30 minutes from Edinburgh, it is close enough for guests to visit the city for the day and return to the luxury and serenity of the castle in the evening. It is one of the finest and best preserved 15th Century keeps in Scotland. The 600 year history that goes with the castle starts with Sir William de Borthwick who built it. He was afforded this privilege having volunteered as a substitute hostage for King James I of Scotland in the ransom five years previously. In 2015, the castle had an enormous overhaul and is now fully in keeping with all the luxury, warmth and homeliness of a modern day castle. This was happily recognized when the castle recently won a prestigious design award.
Sleeps 24 people in 12 bedrooms all with en-suite bathrooms.
