EUSTON HALL

Suffolk, England

Historic Palladian home set in 11,000 acres of landscaped gardens, parkland, ancient broadleaf woodland and agricultural farmland.  Built in 1666, it has been home to the Dukes of Grafton for over 350 years, descendants of King Charles II.

Euston Hall and its grounds have undergone an extensive restoration since the 12th Duke inherited in 2012, creating luxury contemporary comfort in an historic setting.  The Hall houses one of the most extensive private collections of Royal Stuart portraiture and notable equestrian paintings in the United Kingdom.  The grounds and parkland were designed by John Evelyn, Capability Brown and William Kent over three generations.  The Estate is very forward thinking, and in 2016 Euston Farms was awarded the accolade of ‘Greenest Farming Business’ in the Creating the Greenest County awards.  This is also an exceptionally well-run Sporting Estate with deer stalking, as well as partridge and pheasant shooting available.

    FEATURES

Magnificently restored palladian mansion offering exceptional accommodation in its 10 beautifully designed bedrooms along with the uniquely restored Temple (an eye-catching octagonal folly) and Cabin which sleep 8 people.  A great experience for art lovers who can enjoy the extensive private collection of Royal Stuart portraiture and noble equestrian art in the hall.

    THE GROUNDS

Wonderful for family groups with lots of activities such as tennis, croquet and badminton available on the estate to keep everyone occupied and having fun.  The Pleasure Grounds, which were originally laid out by King Charles II’s courtier and celebrated landscape designer, John Evelyn have extensive waterways and weirs which weave their way through them and provide great opportunities for wild swimming.   The waterways and weirs were created by Lancelot ‘Capability’ Brown between 1767 and 1780 and were dredged and rejeuvenated in 2013 following Brown’s original plans.  Staying at Euston Hall provides a chance to see how a forward thinking farm works first hand.
