NEWTON SURMAVILLE

Somerset, England

Newton Surmaville is a Grade I listed Jacobean Manor house in Somerset, surrounded by majestic parkland grounds of about 62 acres. Recently, it has undergone extensive renovations with the interiors designed by the well known New York designer, Jeffrey Bilhuber.

AT A GLANCE

Newton Surmaville was built in 1612 by Robert Harbin, a wealthly local merchant, and has been lived in by the same family for almost four hundred years.  It is set privately within a hidden oasis of 62 acres of parkland and garden on the outskirts of the town of Yeovil, in Somerset.  Having fallen into disrepair towards the end of the 20th Century and beginning of the 21st Century, it was finally put on the open market in 2007 and rescued by it’s new owners.  Between 2007 and 2013 the house underwent a huge restoration project before it returned to family ownership in the last few years.

In the last two years the interiors of the house have been wonderfully designed by the well known New York designer, Jeffrey Bilhuber.  Newton Surmaville offers all the 21st Century standards of comfort one would expect combining designer interiors with old world charm.
